How automation can bring sustainable O&M to solar projects in uncertain environments – pv magazine International

How automation can deliver sustainable solar project O&M in an uncertain environment

It is easy to feel that uncertainty is the only constant for 2022. There is no doubt that supply chains and labor markets will continue to be severely disrupted and that weather patterns will also remain severely disrupted. To combat this uncertainty, it is possible to reduce the number variables involved in executing effective operations and maintenance (O&M), for PV projects.

Automating solar asset O&M can provide certainty and many benefits for PV project owners. These include a significant decrease in water consumption on site, significantly lower labor and organizational expenses, and the resolution of logistical issues in servicing remote sites.

These benefits make automation of O&M in solar parks a great option for project owners. Optimizing park output and getting the most from an installed system is a way to align with sustainable values as well as business practices.

Intelligent devices are available 24/7 at a solar project, which can provide additional benefits. The information that robot cleaners can gather can be used to establish proactive maintenance programs to address reliability issues before they become serious.

This is how it works pv magazine WebinarLearn about the challenges that O&M provision will face in 2022 and how automation can help in the sustainable operation and maintenance of existing and new PV assets. Ecoppia, a leading supplier of robotic cleaners, will share eight years’ experience in supplying its robots for projects. The webinar will also include case studies of robotic cleaning that have been successfully deployed. Everoze, an independent engineer from the Middle East, will also be joining the webinar to share their experience with soiling monitoring and pre-construction soiling assessment across a range of marketplaces in Europe.

The webinar will also include the launch of a new industry survey on automation and PV O&M practices. Participating in the survey and webinar will allow you to help shape sustainable solar asset management practices for today and the future.
