Jackson releases Environmental, Social, and Governance Report

LANSING, Mich.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jackson Financial Inc.1(NYSE:JXN) (Jackson), today announced the release its inaugural Report on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).Since September 2021, when Jackson became an independent public company. The report outlines Jackson’s ESG efforts and future priorities.

Jackson’s history and efforts to positively affect our environment, communities, and stakeholders have been important to our business. We are proud to release our first ESG Report as a public company to highlight these critical areas, said Laura Prieskorn (President and Chief Executive Officer of Jackson). I am grateful for all Jackson associates whose dedication to our values has fueled our ESG efforts. Highlights of the ESG Report include:

  • The solar farm that is located at the Michigan headquarters in Lansing will power more than 20% its campus buildings. Jackson actively works to reduce its environmental footprint and protect the environment where it operates. Through various programs, Jackson includes a recycling and composting program that annually diverts around 60% of the company’s waste from landfills.
  • Jackson recognizes the importance to have an inclusive culture. He offers associates participation in nine Business Resource Associate Groups. The company also offers resources for associates to help them grow as professionals through a variety programs, including mentoring and training. Jackson offers support to associates at work and at home through its Living Life Well program. It focuses on safety, emotional well-being and financial wellness.
  • Jackson donated over $5.6 million, and its associates contributed over 11,500 hours of volunteer work to hundreds nonprofits in 2021. Jackson’s philanthropy efforts led to more than 1.8million students receiving financial education. They also sponsored the construction of the Jackson Volunteer Center at Greater Lansing Food Bank, and other associate-led volunteer efforts.
  • Jackson strives for the highest standards in business practices by ensuring strong governance and providing outstanding customer service. Our nine-member Board is made up of 44% women and 44% ethnic diversity. This allows for a wide variety of perspectives and experiences.
