JCDHE expands COVID-19 testing

KANSAS CITY (Mo. Johnson County Department of Health and Environment announced Wednesday they will expand their COVID-19 testing accessibility by opening two new testing locations and increasing the testing hours at their existing testing sites.

Theatre in the Park opened Wednesday, at 7710 Renner Road in Shawnee. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment is managing this site in collaboration with the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.

Individuals can make appointments for PCR saliva testing online,All appointments are available from 9 am to 5:30 pm seven days a săptămână.

The second site will be open at Roeland Park Community Center at 4850 Rosewood Drive on Friday. KDHE manages this site. BookingsMonday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

JCDHE also increased the hours of their existing testing sites at the Church of the Resurrection or Johnson County Community College. Individuals can make appointments online for Monday through Saturday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

JCDHE announced that Johnson County residents will be able to report their at-home COVID-19 results to the department. Their website.

Sanmi Areola, JCDHE director said that the federal government, KDHE, and Johnson County all have convenient tools to make it easier for residents to get tested and report their results. Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. If you feel sick or exposed, go to the hospital and get tested.
