Manoj Sinha, J&K Lt Governor, demanded Friday that officials in all the districts create an enabling climate for the reopening school in Jammu-and-Kashmir.
The pandemic situation is improving and authorities can slowly move forward for reopening schools and holding offline classes while ensuring complete adherence To SoPs. He observed this while reviewing the Covid-19 situation J&K during a meeting between Covid Task Force, DCs and SPs from all 20 districts.
The Lt. Governor issued directives to the district administrators to ensure an enabling environment for schools to reopen, clean, sanitation, transport, flexible and staggered hours for students with the assistance of school education officials.
According to the Centre’s guidelines, there will be flexibility in attendance. Parents/guardians consent will be obtained. He also stated that students who wish to study at home with parental consent will be permitted to do so.
The Lt Governor gave directions to the district officers to accelerate the distribution of Sehat Golden Card and to get vaccinations for the 15-18 year old age group.
Earlier, Vivek Bhardwaj, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department gave a detailed briefing on the analysis of Covid-19 situation, active cases, testing, contact tracing and vaccination of 15-18 years age group, CAB enforcement, and percentage achieved in weekly and overall BIS Registrations’ progress under AB PM-JAY & AB PM-JAY SEHAT. He stated that vaccination rates have increased significantly for the 15-18 year old age group.
