The memo was not the only one. Four cooperative agreements were also negotiated by the UN program and authority with the goal of protecting the environment, increasing Kuwait’s capacity to combat climate change, and fighting pollution, he stated.
The new deals reflect Kuwait’s commitment to exerting effort and harnessing energies in support of environmental reform, he stated, adding that the memo was valid for four years while the new agreements are valid for two years.
He pointed out that the UN program will support Kuwait’s efforts to improve its environmental capabilities and launch new joint ventures on the basis of this cooperation.
The official from Kuwait believes that all these efforts would have positive impacts on Kuwait’s development vision worldwide.
UNEP Representative – Region Director for West Asia Sami Dimass stated in a press release that the cooperation primarily aims to boost Kuwait’s environmental efforts and reflect common priorities for both the UN body as well as the Kuwaiti authority.
