Living a more sustainable lifestyle is necessary, Bishop Pabillo
Taytay Palawan Bishop Broderick St. Pabillo called on the faithful for a change in lifestyle to help save the earth and the world we live within.
Bishop Pabillo of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines Episcopal Commission on Stewardship stated that the public must change their habits, such as excessive energy use, during the Earth Hour.
Let us pray for everyone that they will try to change their lifestyles, such as excessive energy consumption, which is a limited resources, the Church leader said over Radio Veritas.
Earth Hour was observed by more than 192 countries, including the Philippines, on March 26th. The event was initiated by the World Wide Fund for Nature and highlights the importance of conserving the environment.
This year’s theme is Shape Our Future. It aims to remind everyone of their role in shaping and preserving the future of the world in which they live.
“Let our observance of the Earth Hour go beyond the one hour that we turned off the lights. Let us never forget our role as environmental stewards. If we continue to damage the environment, then we are also destroying the future. Bishop Pabillo stressed that all of us will be affected.
