Mazak is focusing on new machines, CNCs and the environment at MACH

Yamazaki Mazak will be focusing on MACH 2022 with new machines, easier controls, and a strong focus on environmentally-friendly manufacturing.

Mazak will display a total nine machines and three automation system. This will include the UK debut of Mazak’s entry-level vertical machine center, the VCE-600, at the UK trade fair. The VCE machine is high-specification, competitively priced and features a large Y axis stroke that provides maximum space for fixturing and workpieces.

The QTE-300 MSY SG is another entry-level UK machine. This compact turning centre can produce high levels of productivity and can be fitted into any machine shop. The QTE features a 695 mm swing diameter and milling capabilities, a Y-axis, and a second spindle.

Mazak has also added to its high-performance machine range with the VCN-700 vertical milling centre. This is the first in a series of performance-line machines that can perform dynamic milling operations and deliver exceptional productivity.

The Mazak stand QTE Series machines will be the first to be equipped by SmoothEz, a new generation MAZATROL CNC. SmoothEz (pronounced easy), a portrait touch screen with a 15-inch display, combines three features Ez Machining Operation and Ez Setup to provide outstanding productivity, accuracy, and profitability.

Automation will also be a major focus. The UK-built CV5500 5-axis machining center will feature an MA robot to provide a single source Mazak solution. The OPTIPLEX3015 Fiber III will feature laser technology, with a 10.0kW fiber laser resonator.

The UK debut will also include the i-800 NEO technology, which is the latest generation in Mazaks highly-acclaimed VARIAXIS technology. The VARIAXIS i-800NEO is designed for high-accuracy machining over long periods. It is equipped with an exceptional machining area for large workpieces or jigs and a variety of spindles that can be used to meet any industrial requirement.

The VARIAXIS-i-800 NEO has a carbon footprint 22.7% smaller than its predecessor, a reflection Mazak’s increased commitment to environmentally-friendly manufacturing.

This commitment will be highlighted by MACH with the UK rollout of Mazaks Green initiative, which combines lower machine CO.2Machine users can track their energy usage and analyse them using technology called footprints. This Smooth AX Energy Dashboards allows for precise reporting of energy consumption for each machine part.

Mazak will also launch iCONNECT, a secure platform that offers advanced service offerings through digital connectivity. Mazak customers with a registered account will have access to the new portal. It offers many benefits such as remote machine diagnostics and monitoring, maintenance and parts ordering, as well as professional training resources.

Alan Mucklow is the Managing Director, Managing Direct UK, Ireland, and National Distributors at Yamazaki Mazak. He said that MACH 2022 promises a window into future manufacturing for UK machine owners. New low-cost technologies, easy-programing CNCs, plug-and-play automation, and a greater focus on environmental-friendly manufacturing all combine to provide a blueprint for productivity improvements and enhanced profitability.

We are confident that MACH2022 will give the UK a boost in its manufacturing sector. The UK market for new machines is strong. I look forward to welcoming visitors and showing them the wide range of technologies we have available.
