Tomorrow’s Melplash Agricultural Society online seminar will focus on the future of rural livelihoods and agricultural production. Environment Secretary George Eustice will be ‘attended” by the participants.
Nigel Jones, President of Society, said: After two year without a full calendar and a show, we’re going to make the 175th Anniversary Year the best yet. It will be the year that everyone remembers the important role the society plays in promoting rural life and the local economy.
“As we begin preparations for this year’s show, we are honored to be joined by the Rt Hon George Eustice MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and West Dorset MP, Chris Loder. They will discuss with a panel of experts a range of topics related to the future agriculture and other rural challenges. This is especially fitting given our milestone anniversary of being a community organisation supporting rural activities throughout West Dorset.
The event takes place from 6.30pm-8.30pm on Wednesday, 20 April.
