Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley are in for a cold week, with temperatures expected lower than freezing, according to a special weather statement.
Environment Canada forecasts temperatures as low as -10 C overnight for the southwest corner province in the next few days. It will feel even colder due to wind chill.
“An arctic mass arrives on B.C., causing a weather change,” said the weather forecaster Monday. Monday’s weather statement stated that the weather forecast for Monday indicated that there would be a change in the weather.
“Overnight temperatures close to -5 to 10 will combine with outflow wind to produce cold winds chill values near to -10 to 15. The day will be moderated, but temperatures will remain well below the seasonal averages.
These winds are expected to be strongest around the Fraser Valley and Howe Sound regions. Some areas might even get light flurries.
“Be prepared for strong winds and cold temperatures. Environment Canada stated, “Be warm and dressed in layers if you are outside.”

Temperatures will rise later in week. Friday could see high temperatures reaching 6 C. The weekend will bring more rain and warmer temperatures.
