The House of Commons has heard Steven Guilbeault’s emissions reduction plan. It is a projection that electricity emissions will be almost negligible by the end of the decade, but that real progress will take place in the transportation sector.

The plan was to be presented by December 31st, but Guilbeault used a clause to allow him to request an extension of three months.

He believes Canadians will be able to see something new in the plan, which he says is a roadmap to achieve a climate target.

Canada has issued at most 11 plans and set nine different emission targets since 1988, but it has never met any one of them.
