The Ministry of Municipality and Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC), are participating in the 9th Qatar International Agriculture Exhibition, AgriteQ 2022, and the 3rd Qatar International Environmental Exhibition, EnviroteQ at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
The exhibitions are open from Thursday to March 14th. The Ministry of Municipality’s pavilion highlights its role in the development of the agricultural industry and offers incentives for local farmers. HE the Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie, while addressing the inaugural ceremony, said that the exhibitions comes as part of the ministry’s strategy to support food security in Qatar and is inspired by the vision of the wise leadership and the Qatar National Vision 2030 while working to achieve self-sufficiency in all aspects of food. The exhibitions showcase many of the latest innovations in agricultural technologies as well as environmental sustainability.
The MoECC pavilion emphasizes its environmental protection and sustainability initiatives. The pavilion also highlights plans to protect the environment and achieve sustainability while addressing climate change.
He was speaking on behalf of the Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Sheikh Dr Faleh Bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali al-Thani. The exhibitions provide a platform for experts and specialists to learn about new technologies in water treatment, waste management and other areas. Qatar is keen to preserve the environment and its natural balance to ensure a sustainable and comprehensive development.
The minister stated that Qatar has recently launched the Qatar National Strategy for Environment and Climate Change. This strategy is one of the key pillars of Qatar’s 2030 National Vision. This is in line with the sustainable development goals of the United Nations and Qatar’s ambition to achieve a leadership position in the region through the implementation of many projects and initiatives that contribute to efforts to reduce air pollutants and carbon emissions while increasing reliance on renewable energy sources.
