Montreal Climate Summit: Ministers of Environment from the Federal and Provincial Governments will attend

Steven Guilbeault, Federal Environment and Climate Change Minister is scheduled to attend the Montreal Climate Summit on May 3, at Bonsecours Market.

Guilbeault’s provincial counterpart Benoit Charette as well as Dr. Mylne Doouin, Montreal Regional Director of Public Health, are also speakers.

Montreal Mayor Valrie plante is expected to participate in the event. It was organized by the Montreal Climate Partnership in collaboration the Conseil rgional de l’environnement de Montral Vivre en ville and the Institut du Qubec.

Plante stated, “This summit is the perfect chance to mobilize the Montreal community’s leadership in the area ecological transition and adaptation.”

Montreal leaders from the community, philanthropic, political and community sectors will also be present at the event. The event will discuss themes such as the decarbonization and acceleration of mobile electrification, eco-tax measures, and the decarbonization and destruction of buildings.

Workshops will also be led by La Strliski, comedian and author.

Montreal Climate Summit’s goal is to “take inventory of what is being done” and to identify the next steps for Montreal to reach its climate goals.

More than 400 people are expected to attend this summit.
