Doha: Minister of Municipality H E Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie and Minister of Environment and Climate Change H E Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani yesterday met with owners of Qatari farms.
The meeting came on the sidelines of 9th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition and 3rd International Environmental Exhibition at DECC.
During the meeting, they discussed the development of agricultural sector in a way to preserve natural resources by utilising most advanced technologies to increase the produce.
A joint cooperation in addressing environmental challenges and the impact of climate change on the agricultural sector was also highlighted during the meeting.
Minister of Municipality praised the great qualitative leap that Qatari farms witnessed in agricultural production and the use of the latest agricultural technologies which helped increase agricultural production, meeting demand of local market and raising the countrys self-sufficiency rates of fresh vegetables.
He assured that the Ministry will keep supporting farm owners to remove all obstacles in the way of agricultural production.
