CSV had been granted a planning grant previously to evaluate environmental literacy efforts and needs. This initiative also created a team of local experts in many disciplines to launch the grant application and create partnerships.
CSV plans on training 8,000 people, engaging 23 members of the Environmental Literacy Corps, and partnering with 16 local organisations.
CSV is delighted to draw on our decades-long experience with AmeriCorps program management and education expertise in order to promote environmental literacy in Northern Arizona. CSV director Erin Kruse stated that ELC will have positive effects on the community by working with a strong partner network, dedicated members, and passionate about service and the environment.
CSV has hosted national programs since 1985. These include the foster grandparent and senior companion programs and Arizona Ready for College and Career and Alternatives to Managing and Preventing Pain and Other Disabilities.
