Urban Eats Cafe is a new eatery in Thibodaux that offers a relaxed environment and brunch every day.
The cafe is located at 1801 Canal Blvd. Thibodaux’s cafe, at 1801 Canal Blvd., is decorated with pink, flowers, and fresh natural sunlight thanks to the floor-to ceiling windows in the dining room. You can choose from a variety appetizers, pasta, rice entrees, and platters. There is also an all-day brunch menu that features classic chicken and waffles, as well as a sandwich option.
Thibodaux native Germanique Collins owns the restaurant, which opened in June. Laurie Kash, also known as Coleman, is a financial advisor, speaker, and helps entrepreneurs achieve their goals. Coleman is a newcomer to the restaurant industry, but she knew she wanted to create a relaxed environment for the community. It would be a place where family and friends can relax, enjoy a meal, and then check their emails while they sip coffee.

“I don’t have any experience in restaurants. Coleman stated, “I just knew that I wanted somewhere, calm and relaxing, where we could eat really good food.”
Kajun Bowl is one of her favourite menu items. This dish features Cajun rice with fish grilled or fried and a seafood sauce.
It’s so delicious. It’s really, really great,” she said.
You can also order brunch items like the Special Urban Waffle, which comes with your choice of Oreo or Cinnamon Toast Crunch toppings, Seafood Shrimp & Grits, or a Pork Chop Sandwich. Urban Brunch Plates include a variety of meats, including grilled chicken, salmon and shrimp. Each platter also includes two sides.
You don’t want to go to brunch? No worries. Ask about the lunch specials or check out the entree options. The latest daily specials include barbecue chicken, pastalaya, potroasted, catfish stew, and baby back ribs.
Coleman is looking forward and plans to expand. Coleman will start with a larger space and then branch out to other locations in Louisiana, and nearby states.
