ngt: To save the environment, bring sustainability up to personal level: NGT chief India News| India News

MOHALI – Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel was Friday’s chairperson of National Green Tribunal (NGT). He called for people to get involved in protecting the environment.
A personal approach to sustainability is the best way to address environmental problems in 21st century. He spoke at a Rayat Bahra University workshop on Environment Consciousness and Sustainable Future – Save Blue, Green.
Justice Goel stressed the importance of understanding the relationship between environment and health at the workshop. It was organized to raise awareness among students and faculty about sustainable living for a better tomorrow.
Justice Goel was welcomed by Dr Parvinder Singh, vice-chancellor of Rayat Bahra University, and chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra.
Dr Simerjitkaur, Dean of Student Welfare, welcomed the chief guest. He stated that Rayat Bahra University has taken all sustainable measures to ensure a clean and green campus.
Justice (Retd.) Pritam Pa was invited to be the expert speaker at this workshop. He said that humans are responsible both for the rise in temperature and the problems caused by global warming. He said that humans are responsible for creating this problem and that it must be addressed with maximum human power.
Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel later visited the Green Projects Display and Herbal Garden, where he participated a tree-plantation activity.
The NGT chief also visited a weather-forecasting exhibition organized by Chandigarh’s Metrology department.
Students from Rayat Bahra University presented a Nukkad Natak regarding Environment Pollution, and Health. Justice Jasvir Singh and Dr Adarsahpal Vig, chairman Punjab Pollution Control Board, Urvashi Gurlati, retired chief secretary to Haryana, and other guests were also present.
