New Delhi [India]ANI, April 16: Om Birla, Lok Sabha Speaker, suggested Saturday that the environment be kept safe and that natural resources are not misused.
Birla, speaking at the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute programme held at the Parliament premises. She urged the gathering to find innovative ways of conserving the environment.
Birla stated that the environment is a serious concern for the entire globe. She also noted that global warming is a major problem not only in India but for the entire world. Climate change is the key issue since it has a wide range of impacts on different areas of life.
Climate change is affecting human life. Climate change has a significant impact on our economic health as well as many other sectors. The ecosystem is affected by climate change, and this has a significant impact on society, economy, and health. Birla stated that both central and state governments take steps to combat environmental changes.
Birla stated that people made the decision to fight for environmental protection in the Paris agreement. He stated that the Paris agreement made it clear that the developed countries had pledged that they would not only save the earth by protecting the environment but also support the poor countries.
He said, “Environment is an integral part of our lives, just as we worship trees, sun, earth, and water.”
He also suggested that “Our young generation should work towards it.” This is your responsibility at a time we are celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Birla, citing an example from the freedom fight period, said that “freedom fighters weren’t aware if they will get any posts after the country will become free.”
Birla said, “So, now is the time when it’s necessary to fight to save our environment.” (ANI)
