Osceola superintendent: Board member creating hostile work environment in letter from state WFTV

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — The Osceola County school superintendent said school board member Jon Arguello is creating a hostile work environment.

This is the latest chapter in the ongoing drama within the school board, since Arguello was sanctioned by the district last month.

Arguello made it clear that his goal is to eradicate corruption in Osceola County. He doesn’t hesitate to speak out or write about it on social networks.

It seems that Superintendent Deborah Pace was tired of the “personal and professional attacks”.

Pace wrote a letter to Gov. Ron DeSantis and Richard Corcoran, Education Commissioner, wrote to Pace stating that his attacks negatively impact district culture and create hostile work environments for me and my staff.

Arguello replied by posting the letter along with a statement to his school board’s social media page. He said, “You don’t come back from chasing Taliban down and up mountains to get intimated with these bullying tactics aimed towards silencing me.” It is easy to do, just put the community first and you’ll be happy to be silent.

After Arguello sent a letter, the governor’s office is still investigating.

It asked officials for an investigation into his comments in order to determine if he should not be removed.
