The full-scale Russian invasion threatens the environment in Ukraine, an industrial centre dating back to Soviet Union.

One night before the Russian invasion began, Narhiza Shkrobotkowas lived in Orikhiv. It is a small city located about 100 miles northwest Mariupol.As shells fell in the area,The journalist and activist saw through her window a flashing light.

She lived about 70 miles from Zaporizhzhia’s nuclear plant and feared the worst.
