ISLAMABAD (Xinhua), Jan. 3, 2013 — Imran Khan, Pakistani Prime Minister, stated Monday that a Pakistan-China investment and business forum will improve the country’s business environment.
The prime minister addressed the inaugural ceremony of forum and stated that the forum will increase the country’s exports by industrialization.
He said that Pakistan is working to facilitate investors by minimizing regulations and rules.
Khan stated that the second phase of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, (CPEC), focuses on industrialization as well as the agricultural sector in Pakistan.
Nong Rong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, spoke at the occasion. He stated that the second phase CPEC focuses more on business-tobusiness cooperation. The forum, which was established recently, will promote interaction between its member enterprises and encourage information sharing. This will create more business opportunities.
Muhammad Azfar Ahsan was the chairman of Pakistan’s Board of Investment. He said that the forum, which was jointly created by the Board of Investment (and the All-Pakistan Chines Enterprises Association), will explore additional avenues of bilateral investment cooperation through joint ventures and other mutually advantageous partnerships.
