Portage Environmental Conservation Awards dinner on April 30

Trail Lake Park in Streetsboro. The 2022 Environmental Conservation Awards dinner will be held on April 30 in Kent. The event will benefit the Portage Park District Foundation's mission to support the Portage Park District.

The 24th Annual Environmental Conservations Awards Dinner is scheduled for April 30th at the Kent American Legion. It will be held at 1945 Mogadore Road. The deadline to reserve is April 20.

These are the recipients of 2022 Environmental Conservation Awards

Environmental Activism: Tom Collins (posthumous)

Environmental Activism: Pete Mohan

Kent Lions Club – Environmental activism

Environmental Education: Story Trail Project, Moebius Nature Center, Brooke Anderson, Melisa Karlson, Ed Shaul

Taproot Catering: Green Business

Stewardship: Joe DeFuria

Lifetime Achievement: Eileen Fitzsimmons

Kent Environmental Council Edith Chase Award For Conservation: James Bowling

The event will include a dinner, reception, silent and live auctions, raffles, and music by Jay Byrne from the Great American Songbook. $35 includes beer and wine. There will be a cash bar.

Portage Park District Foundation will benefit from the proceeds of fundraising to support its mission to preserve Portage County’s natural heritage.
