Last time we visited the London Stadium, the Gunners were 3-0 down in the first half hour. However, they eventually came back to win a thrilling encounter.
Many things have changed on the pitch and off since that game back in March 2021. Arsenal is likely to field a completely other defense and goalkeeper this weekend than that match with West Ham last year.
Mikel Arteta spoke to the media prior to Sunday’s game and said that he believed the side had ‘improved significantly’ since last season’s dramatic 3-3 draw.
He said, “Especially what were we doing in the first 20 to 30 minutes.” “We put ourself in a really difficult place. We reacted admirably, but we want to change the way we start the game.
The boss then went on to describe how the team and the club had changed over the past 12 month.
He said, “We have very diverse players in the squad and we’re in a very different environment.” “I believe the unity that exists between the team, the staff and our supporters is completely different and is very beneficial for them.
“Obviously, the team has improved its understanding of what we want to accomplish is remarkable.
“The execution of it, the consistency in results is better, and what we’re doing is trying to improve every day. Probably what we did a whole year ago is what you can see now.”
