PreZero Spanish Environmental Services Company Selects DXC Technology To Reinvent Waste Recycling Business

MADRID–(BUSINESS WIRE)–DXC TechnologyPreZero Group, Europe’s largest retailer, has awarded PreZero Group a four-year contract. PreZero Group is a leading global provider of technology services to Fortune 500 companies. DXC will assist PreZero in transforming its IT systems and enabling it develop innovative ways to recycle waste for more than 15 million citizens in Spain and Portugal.

DXC will collaborate with PreZero in order to create a modern digital platform that accelerates the development of innovative and sustainable methods for waste recycling. This will help them achieve their mission to preserve the environment and create a sustainable value stream using a digitalized circular economy.

PreZero, the waste and recycling expert for the Schwarz Group is responsible for Lidl, Europe’s most popular supermarket chain. PreZero has a proven track record of converting waste into new products using a variety o environmental innovations. This directly contributes to the circular economic model. PreZero, for example, is one of the first to use the larvae of black soldier fly flies as a way to turn food waste into high protein animal feed. PreZero also uses AI-powered waste sorting technology to create sustainable packaging solutions that use plant fibers instead of wood pulp in paper or cardboard packaging.

DXC will assist PreZero in modernizing and reconfiguring the legacy IT estate it inherited from Ferrovial’s acquisition of the environmental business in Spain, Portugal and Spain. PreZero will enjoy increased business continuity, reduced risk and greater flexibility to help it grow by migrating its operations to the Cloud and introducing the most recent automation and security technology. DXC will also provide PreZeros 17,000 employees modern workplace services that will improve collaboration and workforce productivity.
