Prince Khaled launches 72 water and environment projects in Makkah, worth SR15 billion

JEDDAH Prince Khaled Al-Faisal is the advisor to the Custodians of the Two Holy Mosques. He is also the Governor in Makkah region and launched 72 water-related projects in Makkah on Sunday at a cost exceeding SR15 billion.

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture stated that five of the projects were for desalinated ground water transmission, at a price of more than SR6billion, and five for the production and preservation of desalinated well water, at a staggering 4.9 billion.

23 water transmission and distribution projects were launched at a total cost of SR1.1billion. Seven other water distribution projects costing more than SR378m and four projects to develop water resources cost more than SR38.8m.

It stated that 26 projects related to environmental services were launched at a cost exceeding SR1.9 billion. Two projects to increase vegetation were also launched at SR24 million.
