Cats For Sharks

Wild Aid and WWF Thailand selected cats to help people stop eating shark fin, as they are one of the most loved pets. A video was released by the campaign in which a cat tells its pet owner to stop eating shark fin.

The cat explains that over 160 shark species are in danger of extinction due to the fact that sharks are killed each year for their meat. The decline of predators such as sharks could lead in some cases to an imbalance of marine animal populations and cause disruptions to the marine ecosystem.

Wild Aid Thailand and WWF Thailand invite people to upload photos of their cats along with messages such as “Please stop eating sharks!” to encourage others to save sharks via the website catsforsharks.com.

Shelter For Stray Dogs

Jon Jad San, or Stand for Strays, is a research project of Yodsaporn Junitongjeen. He is a lecturer at Poh-Chang Academy of Arts’ Faculty of Fine Arts (interior design). Jon Jad San and Muang Thong Thani have teamed up to create shelters for stray dogs. People who don’t like stray dogs were critical of the shelter idea, while dog lovers praised it.

Yodsaporn explained Stand for Strays is an experimental program that does not support the growing number stray dog population. Volunteers are also feeding the stray dogs at Muang Thong Thani’s Dog Community Project.
