DUBLIN (CA) – The all-women federal jail in Dublin Monday was the subject of a “toxic” cultural “rot,” according to congressional leaders. KTVU Fox 2 reported.
Patch reported earlier in March, that a group composed of congressional leaders demanded an inquiry into the prison’s operation after multiple reports of abuse and misconduct.
Three of the leaders visited the facility Monday, and also spoke to a former inmate, according to the station.

Jackie Speier, a member of the U.S. Congress, told the station that the prison is now “under a microscope.”
In 2021, Ray J. Garcia, former associate warden, was charged with one count for suspected sexual abuse. The Federal Bureau of Prisons’ former chaplain pleaded guilty to five felonies, including sexual abuse of an inmate, and lying to federal agents.

Ross Klinger, a former Correctional Officer, pleaded guilty in February 2022 to three felony sexual abuse charges against three inmates.
