Tucson Roadrunners won a last-minute victory before their largest crowd in many years.

The Roadrunners (16-22-22-1) defeated the Henderson Silver Knights (4-3). This was thanks to a power-play goal scored by right wing Michael Carcone (assist by forward MatiasMaccelli, and center Jan Jenik) with 15.6 second remaining.

It was cool. I got a lucky ball there, good plays from Macclli, (left wing Ben), McCartney on the entry, and lucky enough that I just gave it my stick to put it in,” said Carcone who also had two assists.

The Roadrunners won the game in the final minute for the second consecutive year.

That’s the best feeling. That’s why we play hockey to win games and score with 15 seconds remaining.

Tucson’s largest attendance since Nov. 9, 2019, was 5,502.

Jay Varady Roadrunners coach said that it was a great atmosphere. It was great seeing so many people out. There were a lot of things going in Tucson tonight, UofAs playing Oregon and Oregon State, I don’t know which one, and to have two large crowds in the city. It’s exciting, it’s nice to see people get back out.
