2020 US$1 MillionPolymeron was awarded the grand challenge for their innovative solution to transform poultry bio-waste into a renewable and valuable source. They have created technology to create an environmentally friendly biodegradable composite material using biochar. This innovative material will reduce plastic pollution and poultry carcasses and will enrich soil quality. TFC will also be able to reduce its carbon footprint by using this material. Polymeron is one of several startups that participated in the “Taqadam” accelerator program at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.
This challenge was designed to find a solution to process chicken farm waste in an economically viable and commercially viable way to make a positive impact on TFC, as a corporate entity, and on the environment in general.
