On May 15, Don Jacobs, host of WNEPs PA Outdoor Life, featured the Schuylkill Haven Area High School Biology Club Trout Release/Environment Day. Jacobs and Brian Hollingshead, a producer, joined the students at the Schuylkill County Fairgrounds in Summit Station.

The 95 high school students released the 118 rainbow trout that they had raised in Kaye Schwenks biology lab through the state Fish and Boat Commissions Trout for the Classroom program. Schuylkill Headwaters also donated 50 adult trout.

In addition to the trout release, the Environment Day showcased fun, educational, environmental activities coordinated with “Porcupine Pat” McKinney and the Schuylkill Conservation District, in conjunction with the Schuylkill Headwaters Association, Schuylkill County Trout Unlimited, stateGame Commission, Kochs Archery and Taxidermy and Cabelas, with the Venom Institute providing a reptile and amphibian finale.
