Following the sudden resignation of its chief executive, staff at Scotland’s environmental watchdog demanded an investigation into harassment and bullying.
The Ferret news website reported that trade union members of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa), made a submission to management claiming that there had been bullying and harassment in the workplace since Terry AHearn’s departure.
Emma Phillips, Unison’s regional coordinator, said to the website that harassment and bullying are unacceptable. It is essential that there is a culture that encourages people to speak up and knows they will be treated seriously in any organization. AHearns resignation is believed due to complaints from colleagues, but no details have been confirmed.
