Sea Turtle Inc. was founded in 1980 to rescue and rehabilitate stranded sea turtles off South Padre Island. However, the organization is still looking to expand its operations.
According to Nexstar media partners KVEO-TV Rio Grande ValleySea Turtle Inc. was founded in 1977 and has been passionate about saving sea turtles, conserving the environment, and helping others.
Wendy Knight, Executive Director of the Knight Foundation, stated that it is not just her employees who support this effort.
This year, more than 400 emergency calls were answered and 43 sea turtles were rescued and released.
Sea Turtle Inc. volunteers believe education is a key component of the rescue effort. The more people who know how to save sea turtles in the wild, then the less sea turtles will be in danger.
