ERICD District manager Sara Churgin stated, “ERICD had an amazing and successful year. Without our community, we couldn’t have done it.” All of us, volunteers, local funders as well our dedicated staff, elected officials, residents, non profit partners, farmers, and many others, had a positive impact on conservation this year. We look forward to the next year. The work is not stopping. Please keep an eye out in January for a listening event and a grant opportunity for community gardeners. Summer at Portsmouth AgInnovation FarmThe farm came to life in the Spring and Summer. We were able to build a seasonal high tunnel and a storage shed, as well as cultivate community plots. Newport Navy Chorister OrchestraWe raised thousands of dollars for agricultural education thanks to the generosity of The Newport Navy Choristers. The Choristers selected Portsmouth AgInnovation Farm as their beneficiary for their annual holiday concert. We are grateful for your support.

Newport Stormwater MitigationWe have been working together with the Newport Health Equity Zone and The City of Newport in order to engage residents to find nature-based ways to combat flooding caused stormwater runoff by poor drainage in the area.
