SilverLine Environment Impact Assessment to Be Completed Soon, K-Rail. K-Rail. SilverLine project, Environment Impact Assessment. Latest news.

Thiruvananthapuram – K-Rail has announced that the Environmental Impact Assessment for SilverLine project will be completed in the state. This was stated in a press release that was released as part the campaign to support SilverLine project. Officials explained that the ongoing Environmental Impact Assessment examines the sound and shaking that could be caused from the semi-high speed railway.

K-Rail claimed that the SilverLine corridor will not traverse environmentally sensitive regions of the state. Comprehensive systems will be implemented to ensure that there is no obstruction to the natural flow and movement of water bodies, rivers and streams.

Over 88 kilometres of this corridor through the paddy field and wetlands are traversed by pillars. Officials refuted the claims that floods may be caused by the SilverLine’s bunds.
