(TSXV: SOI)We are pleased to announce that several components have been completed in the Environmental Baseline Studies for the Cheechoo Gold Project. This was done with the assistance of Groupe Hmisphres (now a part of Groupe GOS).
These studies include:
- Fall 2019: Wetlands identification and characterisation
- Inventory and characterization for Avifauna (June 2021).
- Inventory of the terrestrial and floral environment (August 2021).
- Inventory and characterisation of aquatic components (August 2021 and September 2021).
Sirios is pleased that the environmental concerns not raised by these studies have not been deemed to be a hindrance to the Cheechoo project’s development.

The EBS is used to quantify and analyze environmental parameters in the potential future mine area. It also serves as a record of environmental conditions prior to any major project activities. This allows for the identification and mitigation of potential environmental and social effects associated with the project’s development. The EBS are used for the development of an Environmental Impact Assessment, (EIA), which is an integral part of the approval process and permitting process to build a mine.
About the Cheechoo Property
Sirios is the sole owner of the Cheechoo gold property. It is located in Eeyou Istchee Jim Bay, Quebec, less that 9 km from Newmonts Eleonore. The Cheechoo project’s latest resource estimate (October 2020) was estimated at Inferred resource of 2.0 millions ounces of gold found in 93.0million tonnes of rock at an average grade 0.65 g/t AuPotentially, this resource could be increased (BBA), P-L.
