ALSEA, Ore. (AP). A lawsuit alleges that the Alsea School district allowed its former superintendent create a hostile work environment. The Albany Democrat-Herald reported that Marc Thielman – who claimed he resigned from his position as superintendent in February in order to focus on his campaign to become governor – engaged in sexual harassment on a consistent, sustained, and ongoing basis during Shanon Rice’s employment in the school district. Rice, principal of Alsea Elementary school, filed the lawsuit in Benton County Circuit Court against the school district last week. Thielman is not named as a defendant in the lawsuit.
