K Chandrashekhar Rao, Telangana Chief minister, felicitated Saalumarada Thimmakka (110-year-old Indian environmentalist) at a function today.
Thimmakka today paid Mr Rao a courtesy trip at Pragati Bhavan. The Chief Minister presented Padma Shri awardee Saalumarada Thimimakka to all ministers and public representatives at the meeting. Rao honored her and presented her with a memento in the presence all of them.
Ms Thimmakka stated that Chief Minister Rao is working hard for the development and growth of Telangana. She expressed joy at the current situation in Telangana’s spheres of agriculture, forestry, and other spheres under Mr Rao.
Ms Thimmakka informed the Chief Minister that she would grow more plants for the state. Her quest for environmental conservation inspired all who attended the conference.
Telangana Rajya Sabha MP Santosh Kumar J also met Padma Shri recipient Thimmakka. They informed that a Thimmakka Green Foundation award will be presented to Thimmakka on her 111th birthday on June 28.
In a tweet today, Santosh Kumar J wrote, “#GreenIndiaChallenge is delighted to have #Padmashree #SaalumaradaThimmakka garu and happy to plant a sapling along with her today. It’s a pleasure to share with you that she announced that the ThimmakkaGreen Foundation will present her an award on her 111th birthday on 28 June. #Blessed.”
