Three pagodas in Siem Reap win Environment-Friendly Award

The Ministry of Environment has awarded three pagodas in Siem Reap Province an environment-friendly award

The Director of Siem Reap Provincial Department of Environment Sun Kong presented three awards to Reach Bo and Damnak pagodas (better known under Svay Romat).

The special recognition, according to the director, had been thoroughly processed through a technical committee assessing a set of defined environment-friendliness criteria.

The assessment revealed that the pagodas were awarded had been assessed with outstanding infrastructure management, outstanding waste management, and the best green environment, including garden, vegetable, and trees.

The Ministry of Environment initiated the award for environment-friendly government institutions, schools, pagodas, and individuals to promote greenliness within Cambodia.

Director Kong reports that twelve entities, including three pagodas have won the awards for 2021.

The Director encouraged both private and public entities to continue with the good practice, not only to win but to keep Cambodia green. AKP-Lim Nary
