Prof Gerardine Doyle, director of UCD Michael Smurfit Grad Business School and associate dean of UCD College of Business, says that it is more important than ever to develop the skills and agile mindset needed to succeed in a world that is constantly changing.
This ethos underpins everything we do. We are actively shaping the future of Ireland and the globe through our innovative curriculum, ground-breaking research, and collaborative industry partnerships.
Prof Doyle claims that UCD Smurfit School is Ireland’s top business school. It has a remarkable history of over 100 years of business education, and a campus exclusively dedicated to graduate education for more then three decades.
The school offers programmes that are top-ranked worldwide and has been triple accredited for more than 20 years. It is also the only Irish member of the leading business school alliances, the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS) and the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM). The school has a strong culture that encourages collaboration, which has resulted in a greater number of outstanding talent from all walks of the business world, including faculty, staff, and corporate partners.
The Smurfit Business School has added new programmes to meet changing industry needs and student requirements. These include a masters in financial data science and an executive MBA program. The new MBA program offers a hybrid delivery model for busy professionals. It includes two intensive days on campus each month, group assignments, and self-directed learning. Part-time and full-time mid-week MBA programs remain appealing to those looking to improve their careers, change industries or pursue new career paths.
Prof Doyle says that our MBA programs allow us to see our entrepreneurial mindset in action. Candidates gain skills that can be used as they start new ventures or add to their existing role. Students learn by doing and are equipped with unique business and behavioural skills that allow them to think creatively and foster a global mindset. They also develop leadership skills to solve the global challenges we face.
