Kentucky men’s basketball was chasing a spot in Saturday’s SEC championship game. Lexington bars were packed for the second consecutive day to watch the action. It was hard to match the chants and cheers of Tennessee’s victory over Vanderbilt on Friday night. Big Blue Nation still hopes for a deep run on the big dance.
Abrams stated that 2020 was very disappointing for many reasons. We wanted to see this team win the race that they were going to have now.
Fans are happy to be able to experience these environments again after two long years.
April Edmonds, who lives in Lexington and is a UK fan, said that it’s great to be with Wildcats. It’s a great way to feel the camaraderie with other fans.
Even those who didn’t wear blue at LexLive were cheering for the Cats. Bullitt East supporters walked across Rupp Arena in order to see the game. The Bullitt East girls basketball team was playing in the KHSAA State Championship. Although their teams finished on the wrong side of Saturday’s results, the Chargers crowd was happy for a day with friends and family.
We miss hanging out with our friends, and now we can do it again. And we can watch games so its amazing.
Kentucky fans claim they are keeping faith despite today’s disappointing loss.
Abrams said, “I stand behind the team, I stand for Coach Cal.” We’re going to root them no matter what.
