JAMMU – Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor, Sunday stated that education and health are the greatest responsibilities of government.
During the Awaam Kilaaz episode, which was dedicated to young Jammu & Kashmiri achievers, he made this observation. The Lt Governor listened to the opinions and suggestions of listeners in the 11th edition Awaam Ki Awaaz, a radio program that aired today on All India Radio (AIR) in the UT. It was also broadcast on DD Kashir.
In his address, Lt Governor congratulated Ms Aroosa parvaiz, Class VIIIII topper from Kashmir Zone. He said, “It’s a remarkable feat. It will inspire children in the years to follow.”
The Lt Governor also congratulated students who passed the 10th or 12th board exams and wished them success in the future. The Lt. Governor made reference to Ms Sheeba Nair, Oasis NGO for post-Covid Educational Reforms. She stated that education and health are the most important responsibilities of government.
He said that education in the post-Covid period had to be a priority for health. Now, with the cases of decline, opening schools, and creation of Happiness Zones we are trying to create an interactive environment that is missing in the online classes.
Responding to the suggestions made by Naveed Ahmad from Baramulla, Umair Hassan and Zahoor Idraabi form Kulgam; Rishu Gopta and Mohammad Iqbal; the Lt Governor gave directions to the concerned officials and departments to take appropriate measures to implement the valuable insights obtained from the citizens.
The suggestion of Rahul Kumar from Samba about the PPP Model to bridge digital divide and create an enabling environment in order to promote Digital Inclusion was welcomed by the Lt Governor. The Lt Governor stated that the government is committed in removing all social inequalities.
According to the Lieutenant Governor, “Digital technology plays an essential role in inclusive development and bridging between citizens and governments programmes.” Digital Jammu Kashmir was created to fulfill Honble Prime Minister’s resolution to make all villages digitally literate. He said that the administration would work towards digital literacy and services in the coming days under the campaign.
The Lt Governor referred to Aditya Sangotra’s suggestions for creating a strong and vibrant ecosystem for scouting & training young sporting talent in the UT.
“We have launched the historic J&K Sports Policy-2022 which focuses upon creating world-class infrastructure and coaching, training of athletes, para-athletes, and other opportunities for growth in sport,” said the Lt Governor.
Professor Geer Mohammad’s suggestion for Nasha–Mukt J&K was met with the Lt Governor who stated that the J&K Government is fully committed in strengthening the action framework, taking a firm stand against drug abuse, and providing practical solutions to create a drug-free society.
Ms. Vidhusi of Rajouri and Ms. Nandini Singh of Rajouri raised issues of mental wellbeing and mental health of students. The Lt Governor stated that the government recognizes the need to provide support for students in psycho-social areas.
Lt Governor also mentioned Luv Khajuria, Akhnoor’s letter suggesting various measures to JKP personnel welfare to keep them moral high. He also appreciated the government’s decision increase ex-gratia assistance for NoKs of J&K martyrs.
Shammi Singh, a young entrepreneur from Samba, and Sonu Sing, a progressive farmer hailing Kathua, received a special mention today. “Our commitment to ensure that every citizen has equal opportunities to grow, and reasonable and affordable access, to basic amenities, said Lt Governor.
Lt Governor exhorted the people to contribute to the improvement of society and said, “Let’s all make a commitment today to follow a path of equality, social harmony, and build Jammu Kashmir in which all sections of society are able to shape the future of this beautiful Union Territory.”
