The environment we live in is one of the big winners out of this year’s annual budget.

Kempsey Shire Council has allocated $31.6 million to work on improving our natural and built environment over the next year, including:

  • Prepared a revised Coastal Management Program in order to manage and improve the health and well-being of our estuaries, foreshores, wetlands and other coastal areas
  • Working with residents in order to manage high-priority weeds, and pest species
  • Flood risk management planning in the Kempsey CBD & Lower Macleay
  • Planning for sustainable land use development, for instance, is a good idea. South West Rocks Structure Plan
