Crown Estate Scotland launched the Whitehill Estate last August. It is located south of Roslin, Bonnyrigg, and centers around the Rosewell and Rosslynlee communities.

It is hoped that Whitehill will one day be a community of its own, a progressive community with a distinct identity.

Mairi MSP, Minister of Environment and Land Reform, visited Whitehill Estate earlier this year.

She met representatives from Crown Estate Scotland, the local community, and was able to better understand the issues and opportunities facing the people. Phase two of the consultation is now underway.

Crown Estate Scotland launched Whitehill Estate 2030’s second stage recently.

A spokesperson stated that the Whitehill Estate will be the focus of a community conversation. It will be able to explore how it can become a great place to live, work and visit.

Crown Estate Scotland has already engaged extensively with local people, providing valuable insight into how they want their communities to grow.

Phase two will take into account feedback received so far, and will ask people for deeper insights into ideas that can help ensure a bright future for their communities.
