PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Energy production, specifically energy produced from traditional sources like coal and natural gas, continues to be one of the biggest contributors to carbon emissions on the planet. Global climate change, which is human-caused, is one of the largest contributors.

What can we do to fix it?

Many industries in the Pacific Northwest are racing for answers to that question and to begin mitigating the effects of climate change before it is too late.

Nicole Hughes, Renewable Northwest Executive Director, joins the show this week to discuss the state of renewable energy development within our region, the potential pitfalls and the economic and socio-economic impact that carbon neutral energy creation could have on all of us.
