The Environment Education, Awareness and Training Scheme (EEAT), is being implemented by Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change. This scheme aims to raise environmental awareness, especially among college and school students, and to encourage them to participate in conservation of the environment. More than 15,000 Eco-clubs have been established in schools and colleges under the National Green Corps (NGC). This scheme aims to educate students and raise awareness about environmental issues. The Ministry supports school students who want to organize nature camps in protected areas, wildlifesanctuaries and national parks. The National Nature Camping Programme of EEAT Scheme aims to provide students with nature experience and to increase their awareness of nature and conservation. According to Department of Youth Affairs information, the regular activities of National Service Scheme are based on awareness about environment conservation and enrichment. NSS volunteers organize activities on climate change, environment conservation, and other related issues, in addition to organizing plantation drives.

This Ministry launched the Green Skill Development Programme in June 2017 under the ongoing Environmental Information System(ENVIS) Scheme. The pilot phase was held at 10 locations spread over 9 biogeographic areas of the country. It aimed to skill youth in the environment, forest, and wildlife sectors. The GSDP training aims to improve technical knowledge of skilled workers with a focus upon hands-on training.
