LITTLE ROCK Entergy Corp. has more than $1,000,000 in contributions to 14 partnering organizations through its Environmental Initiatives Fund. This includes three programs that are funded in the Entergy Arkansas area.
These grants are Entergy’s 21st consecutive year of earmarking funds to support environmental progress.
John Weiss, Entergy’s vice president for sustainability and environmental policy, stated that “Through these strategic environment partnerships, we support all of our stakeholders as they work together to build stronger, cleaner communities.” “These projects help support Entergy’s vision to create long-term sustainable value that benefits all of our stakeholders.”
Entergy’s Environmental Initiatives Fund is a fund that identifies environmentally-beneficial programs and projects that can help improve the environment. It can be used to identify programs and projects that will reduce emissions, protect natural resources, restore wetlands and forests, and other such activities. The fund aims to educate Entergy customers and employees, as well as communities and owners, about the importance of natural resources and other environmental improvements.
Arkansas has received the Environmental Initiative Fund this year.
Adopt A Charger was awarded $160,000 to help install 10 electric vehicle charging stations. These stations are free of charge and have been installed in high-profile areas in Arkansas.
Arbor Day Foundation was awarded $100,000 for its tree giveaway program, which helps Entergy customers in Arkansas and Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas strategically plant trees near their homes to provide energy-savings and environmental benefits.
Xerox Print Relief will receive more than 5,200 trees to plant as part of its Reforestation Certification Program. Entergy provides one tree per 8,200 pages printed.
Through the Environmental Initiatives Fund, more than $40 Million has been invested in environmentally-friendly programs and projects over the past decade.
The EIF contributes to the company’s role as an advocate and contributor to solutions for environmental challenges consistent with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These goals were established as a “shared blueprint to peace and prosperity for people, planet, and future generations” in 2015.
