Chief Minister Basavaraj Bhommai stated Sunday that high schools will reopen starting Monday and that priority would be given to creating a learning environment.
He spoke to media in Hubballi on Sunday to explain that the Education Department has instructed the DCs, SPs and officials to work in coordination with the schools in order to create a harmonious environment. After reviewing the situation, he said that a decision would be made on reopening PU classes.
Officials from the police are monitoring social media posts about hijab. Normalcy should be restored at schools and colleges. Bommai stated that the priority is to provide a supportive environment for students to continue their education.

Responding to a question on the state budget, chief minister said that the thinking was for a complete development of Karnataka. The economy has suffered over the past two years. It has seen some improvement in the last 4 to 6 months. Revenue collection is also on the rise.
He noted that the budget would be prepared with the objective of overall economic growth and public welfare, with financial discipline. We want to provide a boost to economic growth. He stated that welfare of the less fortunate would receive a greater priority.
Bommai replied to a question by saying that a committee headed M R Srinivasamurthy (retired IAS officer) was formed to recommend steps for the revival ofRTCs such as KKRTC, NWKRTC and BMTC.
