Case: Discrimination/Hostile Work Environment (S.D. Ind.)

March 14, 2022 at 3:47 PM

A federal district court granted summary judgment to the Secretary of Veteran Affairs on the claims of a Black female non-medical service chief of a sexually hostile workplace, retaliation and race and gender discrimination in Title VII of Civil Rights Act. The court found that her subordinate touching her side and other confrontations in the bathroom were not related to her sexual activity and were not sufficient to support a claim of hostile work environment. It found that she was terminated for performance and behavioral issues.
