CEO: Finnair will be closer than normal in H2 business environment, says CEO

HELSINKI, (Reuters) Finnair’s national carrier will be emerging from the pandemic slump to be closer to normal business environment during the second half of the year, Topi Manner, its Chief Operating Officer, stated on Friday.

The Nordic airline is particularly concerned about Asian traffic recovery. It continues to offer connections from Europe to Asia via Helsinki, despite recent travel slumps due to restrictions at the border.

Manner said that he is optimistic about summer and added that the airline expects countries such as South Korea and Japan to lift restrictions on travel to the Northern hemisphere during summer.

After the airline announced a 200-million euro investment in product overhaul, including a new premium economy and a redesigned business suite, he spoke.
