SK Innovation announced the visit of Chairman Chey to the Ulsan plant in March 18. He communicated with executives as well as employees.
Chairman Chey stated at this meeting that he had thoughts about the Low Carbon business amid changes to the business environment like the global energy mix, global decarbonization policies, and global energy mix.
Chairman Chey also spoke of the vision for SK Innovation as well as the Ulsan plant.
“The Ulsan plant has been the heart of supplying energy to all parts of Korea for the past 60 years,” said Chairman Chey.
“Energy will shift from oil-centric to de-carbonized and electric,” he said. “The Ulsan plant, which has well established an oil-centered energy network, will continue to play the role of the energy heart of Korea.”
“The Ulsan plant has the capacity to create decarbon-based energy such as electricity, hydrogen, and energy storage systems (ESS), and there will be many opportunities in the future,” he added.
Chairman Chey also promised to create a Happy Community Center in the Ulsan Plant to improve its members’ welfare.
