Everbright Environment secures multiple waste-to-energy projects, enhancing waste processing capacity and solidifying local market positions
21 December 2021 Hong Kong – China Everbright Environment Group Limited (“Everbright Environment”) (SEHK : 257) announced the Company had recently secured Henan Nanyang Waste-to-Energy Project Phase II, Hainan Lingshui Waste-to-energy Project Phase II and Danzhou Waste-to-energy Project Phase II. These projects provide an additional household waste processing capacity of 2,350 tons per day, with a total investment amounting to RMB1.235 trillion.
Nanyang Project Phase II will receive a RMB925million investment. The project will be implemented using a Public Private Partnership (“PPP”) model with a concession period for 30 years. The project will have a 1,500-tonne daily household waste processing capacity. It will include two 750-ton mechanical grate furnaces as well as a 15-MW sub-high pressure steam turbine generator. Gas emission and leachate treatment are fully compliant with all relevant national standards. The Euro 2010 Standard (Directive 2010/75/EU) will also be fully implemented. Everbright Environment secured Nanyang Project Project Phase I in 2019, and began construction in October 2020. For greater synergy, the Company will continue construction work on Nanyang Project Phase I and II. Nanyang Project will be able to process 3,000 tonnes of household waste per day after completion of all construction works. It will also generate 383 million kWh annually of green electricity.
Lingshui Project Phase II, with an investment of approximately RMB135 million, will be implemented based on a Build-Operate-Transfer (“BOT”) model. Its concession period will be completed simultaneously with Phase I of Lingshui Project. Lingshui Phase II will have a 350 ton daily household waste processing capability. It will be equipped with a 350 ton/day mechanical grate furnace and a 9MW mid-temperature, sub-high-pressure condensing Steam Turbine power generator. The project will conform to the Standard for Pollution Control for Municipal Solid Waste Incineration (DB46/484-2019). Lingshui’s Phase I construction was completed in 2019 and has been running smoothly eversince. Lingshui Project Phase II will be completed and operational. It is expected that Lingshui Project will have a household waste processing capacity of 1,050 tons per day and generate around 130 million kWh of green energy each year.
Danzhou Project Phase II, with an investment of RMB175 millions, will be implemented using a PPP model. It will be completed simultaneously with Danzhou Project Phase 1. Danzhou Project Phase II will have a 500-tonne daily household waste processing capacity. It will also be equipped with a 15 MW steam turbine generator and a 500-tonne mechanical grate furnace. It will also implement Standard for Pollution Control for Municipal Solid Waste Incineration (DB46/484-199). Phase I of Danzhou Project was completed in November 2020. It has been running smoothly ever since. Danzhou Project Phase I will have a 1,500-tonne daily household waste processing capacity, which is expected increase to approximately 195 million kWh per annum.
Everbright Environment will have household waste processing capacities that exceed 10,000 tonnes/day for Henan Province and 6,600 tonnes/day for Hainan Province. This will further enhance the Company’s capabilities and strengthen its local market position. Everbright Environment’s steady growth in business, consolidation of cooperation relationships with local authorities, and improved relationships with local communities will allow them to adhere to their corporate mission of “Being dedicated to Ecology and Environment to a Beautiful China” as well as its development philosophy of “Pursuing excellence and close to zero discharge”. This will facilitate the achievement of green and low-carbon goals while increasing synergistic efficiency through better waste treatment, reduction, and recycling.
